Fun times in Delaware. My brother and his family recently moved to Delaware so we had a personal connection to this state. Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution and became the first state of the new nation. One of it's nicknames is the Diamond State given by Thomas Jefferson because it is "small, but valuable." The state animal is the horse-shoe crab. I tried to talk the kids into making crab cakes, but was turned down. Instead we made an origami crab. I found simple directions on-line.
