United States--Maine

Some fun random facts about Maine:

• It's the only state whose name has only one syllable.
• It's the main place in America for lighthouses, lobster and blueberries.
• People in West Quoddy Head, Maine are the first to see the sun rise because it's the farthest East.

We made lighthouses for our activity.  We used this site, but modified the activity a little.  I had small clear cups and small white cups on hand so we used those and red paint.  We also made our own flames instead of tea lights.  Ephram and Dyllan got creative with their lighthouses (no light would have been able to pass through, though) and Braedi and Corbin stayed true to a typical lighthouse.
